Frequently Asked Questions Q1: How much assembly is required? A1: The ShotMaxTM will come to you almost fully assembled. Only the top two support tubes need to be inserted into the main frame before using your ShotMaxTM. No tools are required to complete the assembly process. Q2: How difficult is the ShotMaxTM to install once it is assembled? A2: The ShotMaxTM was designed with ease of installation in mind. Once the unit is adjusted to fit your backboard, the installation of the ShotMaxTM takes less than 30 seconds. No tools are required, nor is it necessary for the ShotMaxTM to be attached to the backboard or hoop with fixtures of any kind. Individuals five feet in height and taller can easily complete the installation. Refer to our video installation under the “Video” navigation buttons on the website for more information. Q3: How much does ShotMaxTM weigh? A3: The ShotMaxTM is built primarily of high-grade, lightweight aluminum tubing and weighs only 16 pounds. Q4: Is the ShotMaxTM suitable for outdoor use? A3: The ShotMaxTM is suitable for outdoor use. However, we recommend that the ShotMaxTM be removed from service and stored indoors after each use. Through time, it is possible that the netting used on the ShotMaxTM will degrade from UV radiation. Q5: How do I know if ShotMaxTM will fit my backboard? A5: The ShotMaxTM was designed to fit virtually every commercially-available backboard on the market, regardless of shape or size. The ShotMaxTM includes two adjustable support tubes that are designed to “hook” over most backboards with only minimal adjustment and fine tuning. Backboards with a height of greater than 36" are recommended, however. Q6: Can I buy one for home use? A6: At present, only an institutional version of ShotMaxTM is available. However, we expect to introduce a consumer model in the very near future. Until then, our institutional model is certainly suitable for home use. Q7: Is the ShotMaxTM easily removed and stored? A7: Absolutely. The ShotMaxTM is easily removed from any backboard in less than 30 seconds and folds flat for easy storage in a closet, garage, gymnasium locker room, or office. Q8: How much is shipping and where will my ShotMaxTM be shipped from? Q8: Shipping is free to anywhere in the continental United States and all units ship from Franklin, Massachusetts. Q9: Which shipping carrier do you use? A9: We ship via UPS Ground unless you tell us otherwise, keeping in mind that because the product is nearly fully installed, it ships as an “oversize” item by UPS standards. Expedited shipping is available. Please call us for rates. Q10: Will I be charged sales tax? A10: Unless the ShotMaxTM is shipped inside the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, sales tax would not be applicable. When shipped inside Massachusetts, the standard 5% state sales tax would apply. Q11: When will I receive my ShotMaxTM? A11: Once the product leaves our warehouse, UPS Ground requires anywhere from 1-5 days to reach our customers. New England customers can expect 1-2 day delivery times. West coast customers can expect a 5-day delivery time. Note that all customers that provide an email address at the time their order is placed will receive a direct link to UPS in order to track their shipment. Q12: What are the warranty details? A12: We offer a one-year warranty against any manufacturing defect. We reserve the right to inspect the damaged product before providing a replacement or refund. Q13: What is your return policy? A13: Although we are convinced that you will be fully pleased with your ShotMaxTM purchase, we recognize that there may be a few circumstances where a return is warranted. We reserve the right to review such circumstances on a case-by-case basis and respond accordingly. In the unlikely event that a return is warranted, we ask that you return the product to us in the original packaging. We further reserve the right to charge a restocking fee at our sole discretion, or to refuse a return shipment in the event that the product is damaged during transit.
